About a week or so before my son’s beach wedding I found a dress I loved… flowy fabric and beautiful colors but it was sleeveless and I didn’t want that. The dress was on a great sale, so I actually bought 2! Enter Pear Tree clothing Alterations. I brought the 2 dresses and explained what I wanted and it was better than I even thought it could be!! Rejane is extremely knowledgeable and made 2 layer sleeves, made it to have a v neck instead of a small oval and took up the length. Everyone loved the dress and I felt great and confident in it. I’m super grateful! I highly recommend her and will be a repeat customer for life!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Every visit is by private appointment, Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 5 PM, at our atelier at 6372 Robin Cove in Lakewood Ranch — please do not stop by without one. Book through our website or call (941) 549-2015.
Is there a charge for the consultation?
No. Every consultation includes a complimentary assessment of your garment, with no commitment required. Each piece is seen in person so the evaluation is accurate and honest.
What should I bring to my fitting?
The garment, and the shoes you will wear with it — they are required at every fitting, especially for wedding dresses, because hem length depends entirely on the shoe. For wedding and formal wear, also bring the undergarments you will wear on the day.

Yes. We take the length out from above the cuff and reattach the original edge, so the fade and worn hem stay exactly as they were.
Hemming & everyday alterations →Do you alter men's clothing?
Yes. Suit jackets and blazers, trousers, dress shirts and tuxedos — for grooms, events and everyday work wear.
Men's alterations →Do you repair clothes?
Yes — zippers, linings, split seams, buttons, and small tears or holes. We do not offer invisible reweaving; for a hole in a fine wool suit in a visible place, we will tell you honestly if reweaving would give a better result.
Repairs & mending →Do you take rush orders?
No. Because of very high demand, we are currently not able to take any work needed in less than 10 days — Rejane has to take care of the clients who are already scheduled. For wedding dresses, please book at least four weeks ahead.
Can you assess my garment from a photo?
No. Every garment has to be seen and tried on in person — fabric, construction and how it sits on you all change the answer. Your in-person assessment is complimentary.
Do you make clothing from scratch?
No. We alter, repair and restore garments you already own. We do not make new garments to order.
How early should I book wedding dress alterations?
At least four weeks before the wedding. Every wedding dress needs a minimum of two fittings, and four weeks is the least time that allows for them.
